This study investigated the teachers’ inner lives and the link with their relationship with students in terms of proximity and influence. Three research questions were examined: (1) whether teachers’ well-being is correlated with teacher-student relationship; (2) whether teachers’ efficacy is correlated with teacher-student relationship; and (3) whether the relationship between teacher well-being and teacher-student relationship is mediated by teachers’ efficacy. A total of 110 teachers (35 males, 75 females, M age = 44.6 years, SD = 8.9) from six secondary school (junior high school) in Jakarta, Indonesia participated in the study. Results showed significant associations between teacher well-being and teacher-student relationship as well as teachers’ efficacy and teacher-student relationship. In addition, the teachers’ well-being and teachers’ efficacy were found could predict teacher-student relationship. This study also found the mediation effect of teachers’ efficacy on the relationship between teacher well-being and teacher-student relationship.
