Arthur H Janik
Arthur Janik is a PhD candidate in the Department of Positive Psychology at SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw. His doctoral research focuses on the effect of cross-valence mixed emotion states on creativity in the context of theatrical improvisation. He is an active (bilingual) member of Warsaw’s improv community, and leader of the Improvisation Academic School at SWPS. His improv education includes Szkoła Impro in Warsaw, Chicago’s major improv theaters iO, Second City, and Annoyance Theatre, as well as the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. Prior to academia, he worked in various roles across consulting, media and the arts. Arthur holds an MBA from Yale University, and completed his BS and MS in journalism at Northwestern University. He believes improv’s principle of “Yes, and…” can save the world.
