Christy Teranishi Martinez
Dr. Christy Teranishi Martinez is a Professor of Psychology, Affiliated Chicana/o Studies Faculty, and Director of the Center of Multicultural Engagement at California State University Channel Islands. She promotes the teacher-scholar model, integrating her research on positive psychology into her courses and community engagement activities. Her research has examined the relationship between flow, spirituality and happiness, and the impact of creative outlets on coping with intimate partner violence. She has taught international study abroad courses, including A Mind, Body, Spiritual Journey through Peru, and Cultural Diversity and Cross-Cultural Psychology in Japan.
