Michaela Brohm-Badry

Michaela Brohm-Badry is a German professor for Learning and Instruction at the University of Trier (Germany, Rhineland Palatinate), author and known public speaker. Her research foci are motivation and positive psychology. She is the president of the German Society of Positive-Psychological Research (DGPPF) and the founder of the first German University postgraduate program on Positive Psychology, Education and Philosophy in Germany. Many of her results have been covered by the media. She studied music, history and educational sciences in Essen an Karlsruhe and graduated as a PhD in musicology at the University of Fridericiana Karlsruhe in 2000. Brohm-Badry had been working in public schools as a teacher since 1991. Meanwhile, she increasingly dedicated herself to issues of learning and motivation theories. In 2000, she became a lecturer at the University of Karlsruhe for the theory and practice of motivation. She worked as a research assistant at the University of Münster in 2003. In 2007, she received and accepted the call for a chair for Learning and Instruction at the University of Trier in the interdisciplinary field of the educational sciences (pedagogy, sociology and psychology).
