As someone high in the character strengths of kindness and empathy, I started my working life as a registered nurse, eventually finding myself in nurse education. Following completion of a Bachelor of Science I moved into secondary school education. Over the course of my 20+ year career in education, I have been a secondary school Biology teacher, well-being coordinator, and student year group leader; all the while being a parent to my own three children.
In 2016, I was introduced to positive psychology and character strengths. It became my passion. Since then I have completed a Master of Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Melbourne, Australia, and in 2019 founded Germination-edu, my own well-being-based business.
I am a seasoned presenter; most recently presenting at the Positive Education Schools Association Australian national conference and a poster presentation on a positive education pedagogy at the World Conference of Positive Psychology.
A native of Australia, I moved to Houston, Texas with my husband at the beginning of 2019. I love being active and in nature and find great reward in meeting new people and places.
