Hadassah Prof. Littman-Ovadia

Hadassah Littman-Ovadia is an Associate Professor of psychology at Ariel University in Israel. She is a founder of the MA program in vocational-organizational psychology and served for nine years as its head. She has engaged in hundreds of adult counseling processes in designing their careers and in dozens of mentoring/supervision processes with vocational psychologists. As one of Israel's senior counseling psychologists, she has served as the director of two counseling centers. Based on her extensive and diverse professional and managerial experience, her research interests focus on career counseling, career development, character strengths, and meaningful/balanced work/life. Her main goals are teaching, exploring, and supporting the flourishing of individuals, teams, and organizations. Hadassah seeks to bridge gaps between academic research and psychological practice. She has developed interventions (e.g., Strengths-Based Career Counseling) and measurement tools (e.g., the Optimal-Under-Over-Use of character strengths), and an assessment interview for adjustment difficulties in adapting to army life. These applied contributions have been found effective and adopted by the Ministry of Labor and by the Israel Defense Forces. She collaborates with the VIA Institute in large international projects and publishes her work in career and positive psychology journals.
