The Differences Of Early Childhood Teachers’ Hope And Grit According To Cluster Types Based On The Mindset (#797)

The purpose of this study was to examine the difference in hope and grit according to early childhood teachers’ mindset. The subjects in this study were 223 early childhood teachers in Y and M citie in South Korea. The analysis methods of descriptive statistics were one-way ANOVA, two-step clustering statistics. The findings of the study were as follows: First, a cluster analysis on a sample of 223 early childhood teachers revealed five clusters: the upper fixed mindset type, undifferentiated mindset type, the lower growth mindset type, the upper growth mindset type and the common growth mindset type. Second, there were significant difference in mindset types according to ‘hope’, ‘pathway thinking’ and ‘agency thinking’. Third, there were significant difference in ‘perseverance of effort’ and ‘consistency of interest’ according to early childhood teachers’ mindset. The findings of this studies are expected to suggest how to promote the grow mindset of early childhood teachers.
