The implementation of safe and high impact interventions, designed to deliver well-being, behavioural or psychological outcomes, remains of key interest to both program developers and practitioners. The Life Buoyancy Model was designed as a process and outcome framework, operationalising positive psychology constructs, to guide the design and implementation of programs, and therapeutic and skill-focused interventions targeting clinical and non-clinical outcomes. The model provides an organising framework to guide the intent (titled “intentional practice”) of an intervention by articulating the relationship between outcomes (e.g., PERMA) and key positive psychology intervention components and processes (e.g., coaching, curiosity). The model can be operationalised at both the program design and moment-to-moment practice levels. At the program level, the model has been widely applied within Australia to support program developers to bring creative flair to PPI intervention design, but within a framework of mindful awareness, evidence and intentionality. This has included large scale well-being and resilience programs, whole-of-school approaches and PPI implementation. At the moment-to-moment level, the model provides an organising framework for practitioners, coaches, clinicians, teachers and supporting adults to guide the intent of their support and interventions. The poster provides a summary overview of the model (including evidence), and its current applications.
