A Case Study Of Inspiring Children's Creativity Through Creative Dance Courses (#816)

Use different themes, like birds, wind and chairs to design creative dance courses in a class of mixed-age teaching.

A 7 year-old girl with no experience in dance has been changed especially in the quality of creativity.

The research use mixed methods including quality and quantity research. Using the Williams creative tendency scale, analyzing body movements, emotional charts, mood diaries, painting creations, interviewing with teachers, parents and classmates of the girl.

 

Results:

  1. The score of the test went from 78 to 141.
  2. The body movements from floor to the big space.
  3. The emotional charts changed from negative to positive.
  4. The mood diary was blank in the first four classes. After one month, there was a pink fox appeared in her diary.
  5. The painting creations and lines were messy at first. After the courses, they became much more orderly.
  6. Through the interview:

      Her little friend described she as a girl who never talked had changed to ‘watermelon’ (which means someone is active and likes to jump and dance).

      Her mom thought the girl became more confident. The teacher concluded that she had more ideas of her own.
