Established by local primary and secondary schools the THRIVE Positive Education Network is a community of practice that is committed to improving the wellbeing and achievement of students, staff, families and the broader community. By using the science of Positive Psychology the Network has moved from reactive wellbeing processes and practices to strategic and sustainable operations. The THRIVE framework is grounded in research and supports organisations to plan, embed and evaluate the implementation of Positive Psychology within each unique setting. The THRIVE framework is a holistic approach to Positive Education and informs day-to-day practices. THRIVE has been integrated into:

  • Curriculum development
  • School wide positive behaviour supports
  • Promoting student engagement and agency
  • Assessment and reporting
  • Student transitions
  • Building teacher capacity to deliver Positive Education curriculum
  • Support for parents and families
  • Developing community partnerships

This symposia will consider some of the challenges,  opportunities and practical measures that facilitate the cultural change necessary to enable a community to THIRVE.
