This talk will examine job crafting and leader autonomy support as reciprocal pathways to employee health and well-being. Research will be covered to show that job crafting and autonomy support are independent, yet mutually reinforcing predictors to autonomous work motives and employee mental health across cultures. The talk will cover strategies in which employees might use job crafting to increase their autonomy support, to ultimately enhance their experience of work. The talk will also draw on other practices commonly used in work organisations to enhance employee mental health and well-being, including various forms of mindfulness and meditation.
