Playing safe is a risky strategy for educators in the modern world. We need to reinvent education desperately if we are going to stay relevant for the next 50 years.
We will explore what essential ‘deep human’ abilities and mindsets are that students (and educators!) need to develop (e.g. curiosity, mindfulness, insight, empathy and compassion), how they map on to latest findings from neuroscience, positive psychology, and leadership, and how they can be taught and integrated into curricula.
Participants will experience our experiential teaching methodologies and gain confidence bringing them back to their work. We will share how to measure outcomes effectively, and provide top insights from having developed large scale programmes and having taught more than 14,000 students, professors and corporate clients in the past 3 years.
For example, at the National University of Singapore, Asia’s top University, we co-founded a groundbreaking mindfulness, positive psychology and social-emotional intelligence-based program which was an essential part of every student’s journey.
It is essential to focus on positive psychology skills now as we are waging a massive war on technology addiction. We are facing an epidemic of loneliness, anxiety and depression. It is critical that we focus on self-management, self-regulation and self-mastery.
