The purpose of this study was to explore the immediate and follow-up effectiveness of LEGO®-based career guidance program. There were 60 Taiwan college students in total, 22 boys and 38 girls. Their average age is 19.90. The researcher regarded strength as the core concept and used 3 facilitated methods of LEGO®Duplo®Six Bricks, LEGO®Duplo®Play Box and LEGO® Serious Play®to develop the 12 hours LEGO®-basedcareer guidance program. Participants conducted group discussions, reports, and writing reflection daily journals.
The study unitized an experimental design; participants were assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 12-hour LEGO®-based career guidance programbut no any treatment for the control group. The two groups were compared on their scores on the “Positive and Negative Affect Scale”, “Career Hope Scale”, “Coping Scale”, “Career Adaptabilities Scale”, immediately after the last guidance session and one month following the last guidance session. Data were analyzed by ANCOVA. Data were analyzed by ANCOVA and the results showed that LEGO®Duplo®Play Box and LEGO®had immediate and lasting effects in career adaptabilities and stress coping but only a partial effect in affect and career hope.
