A VIA-120 survey (Values in Action) is applied to define which the basic character strengths to promote communication skills are. To this end, PERMA model Theory of Wellbeing and Julian Rappaport's Empowerment model are used, which promotes the development of resources available for the empowerment of character strengths in teachers of Eustorgio Salgar School to develop communication skills. For this purpose, I use resources available in the model, VIA-120 Survey, the Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP) for the development of strengths to allow assertive and effective communication within the classroom.
In the case of the teachers of the Eustorgio Salgar Educational Institution, the recognition of personal or character strengths is required to enhance them and thus allow the development of necessary skills for the improvement of social communications, thus achieving authority and guidelines are followed by the students, without the questions and delays presented in the classroom.
Techniques: focus group, participant observation, inventory, survey, self-reports.
Results are: identification and description of the strengths of character in each teacher evaluated with the VIA-120 inventory. Application of strategies to promote and strengthen the identified character strengths through Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice (MBSP) (translated into Spanish by researcher), communication skills evaluated by student survey.
