Lanxi Huang

Dr Lanxi Huang is a Teaching Specialist at the Centre for Wellbeing Science (CWS) at the University of Melbourne. Previously, Lanxi has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Education in Language Teaching and Learning, and a Master of Education by Research, focusing on promoting contextual responsiveness in teacher professional development programs. Her PhD project explored Chinese international students’ lay conceptualisation towards wellbeing, wellbeing language, experiences, and pathways from a holistic perspective. She also has working experience in psychological counselling and high school teaching. Lanxi’s current work includes course content design, internationalising the curriculum, and being the instructor for several undergraduate and master subjects at the CWS. Lanxi has several publications in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, the Frontiers in Psychology, the International Journal of Wellbeing, the Handbook of Positive Psychology in Schools, the Routledge International Handbook of Schools and Schooling in Asia, and the Multidisciplinary Research Perspectives in Education. In addition, Lanxi is an engaging speaker, presenting at top conferences, such as the 7th World Congress on Positive Psychology, the Australiasian Wellbeing in Education Conference, the European Conference on Positive Psychology, and the World Literacy Summit at Oxford University. Her research has also been reported by Times Higher Education, Field Research, Strengths Optimizer, and the Creativity and Wellbeing Hallmark Research Initiative. Lanxi believes wellbeing is critical for human potential and thriving, and she aims to promote wellbeing in a people-centred, contextually responsive, and systematic way.
