Science develops via lively empirical, conceptual, and cultural debates about particular literatures, and, in this spirit, the current symposium aims to highlight criticisms and appreciations of contemporary positive psychology from four perspectives. Tim Lomas is a lecturer in positive psychology and an author of Second Wave Positive Psychology: Embracing the Dark Side of Life. Judtih Moskowitz is a professor of medical social sciences and a prolific researcher investigating the role of positive emotion in assisting individuals suffering from medical illness. Neil Lutsky is a teacher of positive psychology emphasizing the strengths and shortcomings of the field on scientific grounds.
