The Universidad Tecmilenio is a positive university that has as its purpose for students, faculty and staff to be their best selves.  The university established an engaged learning community that cultivates the best of each person allowing them to flourish while fostering leadership within an ecosystem dedicated to wellbeing and happiness.  The university sets conditions where everyone can discover and expand their purpose in life that ultimately benefits society in general.

University leaders engaged in a “disruptive innovation process” that led to the use of Appreciative Inquiry approaches in identifying and aligning the vision, values, goals, culture and organization of the university in its aspiration to become a positive university with a mission of innovation, with a purpose in life.  University stakeholders designed a comprehensive ecosystem of wellbeing and happiness.  This ecosystem includes academic programs, student activities, faculty/staff programs and certifications, and facilities and services.

In the evolution of this ecosystem, university facilitated a two-day Appreciative Inquiry summit that included governance and advisory board members and other major stakeholder groups.  Tecmilenio case study will describe how the use of Appreciative Inquiry led to a university-wide transformational model combined with planned change over time that resulted in a positive university.
