Kathi Norman 6th World Congress on Positive Psychology 2019

Kathi Norman

Dr. Norman is a physician assistant with a passion to marry positive psychology and medicine. Early in her medical practice, she realized that a main ingredient in health and well-being was missing. For two decades, she honed her medical skills as this deficiency lingered in her thoughts. Fortunately, Dr. Norman was introduced to positive psychology in her exploration of positive health factors. After a year in MAPP at the University of Pennsylvania, she decided to create a business model that focuses on the health and well-being of the patient, the provider, and the health system. While one might improve well-being, it may not be sustained without improvement and growth in the other two. Dr. Norman is currently co-creating the first entry level doctorate program for physician assistants that will focus on resilient providers educated in positive health interventions for patients they serve. She is working with major health systems that are interested in this model of education.
